We believe that over the internet, stereo 3D is the very best medium by which to convey to tourists and expatriate Jamaicans the fascinating tropical beauty of this unique and colorful Jamaican tourist town (on existing computer monitors and / or tablet screens). You will find that our 3D visuals of interesting, beautiful places and exotic, colorful scenes within Negril will seem to almost come to life for you here!
So by presenting some of Negril's scenes to you using these 2 fascinating and amazingly realistic 3D formats, we hope that you will be inspired enough to visit Negril for your next vacation. However, since not every page in this website contains the "no-glasses-needed" format of 3D, it is best if you have a pair of red-cyan 3D glasses with which to view all that is on this website.
Should you need a pair of 3D glasses in order to view the deeper Anaglyph 3D version of this website please send us a self addressed stamped envelop (SASE) and we will send you a free pair of red-cyan (blue) cardboard glasses by return mail. Please add $1 cash to your SASE for each additional pair of glasses you desire.
Please proceed to our menu on the left in order to find the various pages of our website that show Negril's interesting people, places and scenes in amazing 3D.
The following is a more in-depth explanation of our two 3D formats for those of you who are interested....
We have hereincorporated the only two 3D display formats which can currently create 3D illusions upon your existing computer screens, tablet screens or smart phone screens.
However, there are other 3D display formats that have been developed for computer gaming, movies and TV and where and how each of these apply can be quite confusing to the uninitiated. Simply put though, our two 3D formats use colors or wiggling to create their 3D effects on your screens while the others all use image polarization (which the vast majority of existing screens cannot produce) to create their 3D effects. So you will find that one version of our 3D needs red-cyan colored glasses and the other one, the one that wiggles, needs no 3D glasses to create its 3D illusions. But all of the other 3D formats used in the movies and on 3D TV's need brown polarized (passive or active) shutter glasses to create their 3D illusions.
When you delve more deeply into our website (by clicking through to entries shown in our left menu), you will see some absolutely amazing in-screen and out-of-screen 3D illusions created in the anaglyph format on your existing flat screen! Even in comparison to the much more expensive (to produce and display) 3D that you'll see at the movies, on the new 3D TV's or on special 3D computer screens, our anaglyph 3D format competes very well. However, it does have the minor flaw that red colors are distorted into a charcal purple.
When you check out our wiggling Piku-Piku 3D format photos, that do not require any 3D glasses to view their 3D illusion (because they wiggle it into view), you will also find that minor glitches in the images can show up. This is just a minor flaw too but because of these minor flaws in both of these 3D formats we call them our Poor Man’s 3D.
Here is a complete description of our 2 slightly flawed but still great 3D formats....
Our unique “no-glasses-needed” Piku-Piku Format stereo 3D images (Piku is a Japanese word which loosely translated means twitching) create their 3D illusion on your screen by using a wiggling animation of each photo. The advantages of Piku-Piku photo wiggling images are that they do not require special glasses to be viewed in 3D and they display excellent colors.
Also, they do not instigate any dizziness, headaches, seizures or other eye health problems which can occur when viewing the old school anaglyph format 3D images through the red-cyan glasses. For these reasons, many people prefer to view just our Piku-Piku 3D photo images even though they can have some small distortional glitches within them and even though they are unable to create the attention grabbing, out-of-screen 3D for which the Anaglyph format 3D images are so famous.
Our Anaglyph Format stereoscopic 3D images require the viewer to wear the old school red-cyan (blue) colored filter glasses when viewing them in order to observe their amazing 3D illusion. This is because each anaglyph image actually is composed of 2 images (which were very slightly offset when taken), one superimposed upon the other in red. This is why the red-cyan colored filter glasses are required. They separate the 2 piggy-back images and send one of them into each of a viewer’s eyes in order to create within the viewer's mind an illusory 3D image that is ultra realistic and therefore most fascinating.
